Gonophore (?), n. [Gr. > offspring, seed + φέρειν to bear.]
1. (Zool.) A sexual zooid produced as a medusoid bud upon a hydroid, sometimes becoming a free hydromedusa, sometimes remaining attached. See Hydroidea, and Illusts. of Athecata, Campanularian, and Gonosome.
