   Palm Sunday (?). (Eccl.) The Sunday next before Easter; -- so called in commemoration of the triumphal entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, when the multitude strewed palm branches in the way.  The event is commemorated in Christian churches by distribution of blessed palm leaves.
