   Radiotherapy (rāˌdĭ‑ŏ‑thĕrˈȧ‑py̆), n.  [Radio- + therapy.] (Med.) Treatment of disease by means of x-rays or radioactivity.  Radiotherapy of cancer is based on the fact that cancer cells are more sensitive to radiation than most other cells in the body.
