Solve (sŏlv), v. t. [imp. & p. p. Solved (sŏlvd); p. pr. & vb. n. Solving.] [L. solvere, solutum; from a prefix so- expressing separation (cf. Sober) + luere to loosen; cf. OF. soldre, soudre.
