dasyure (dăsˈĭ‑ūr), n. [Gr. δασύς thick, shaggy + οὐρά tail: cf. F. dasyure.]
1. (Zool.) A carnivorous catlike marsupial quadruped of Australia, belonging to the genus Dasyurus, called also native cat. There are several species.
