    impala (?), n. An antelope (Aepyceros melampus) of Southeastern Africa, the male of which has ringed lyre-shaped horns, which curve first backward, then sideways, then upwards.  ALso called impalla and pallah.

    pallah (pălˈlȧ), n. (Zool.) A large South African antelope (Aepyceros melampus).  The male has long lyrate and annulated horns.  The general color is bay, with a black crescent on the croup.  Called also roodebok.
