Ellipsis , n.; pl. Ellipses . [L., fr. Gr. ἔλλειψις a leaving, defect, fr. ἐλλείπειν to leave in, fall short; ἐν in + λείπειν to leave. See In, and Loan, and cf. Ellipse.]
