   Fenugreek , n. [L. faenum Graecum, lit., Greek hay: cf. F. fenugrec.  Cf. Fennel.] (Bot.) A plant (trigonella Fœnum Græcum) cultivated for its strong-smelling seeds, which are “now only used for giving false importance to horse medicine and damaged hay.”
