n. [F. pédagogue, L. paedagogus, Gr. παιδαγωγός; παῖς, παιδός, a boy + ἄγειν to lead, guide; cf. ἀγωγός leading. See Page a servant, Agent.]- (Gr. Antiq.) A slave who led his master's children to school, and had the charge of them generally.
