Thyme , n. [OE. tyme, L. thymum, Gr. θύμον, θύμος; cf. θύειν, to sacrifice, θύος a sacrifice, offering, incense: cf. F. thym; -- perhaps so named because of its sweet smell. Cf. Fume, n.] (Bot.)
